Med Surg / ICU Manager
Nursing Adm: ICU & Med/Surg Manager
Full Time - Salaried Position
Requirements: RN – Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with at least 3 years direct patient care experience in Med-Surge and Critical Care and Emergency Room preferred. BSN is preferred or equivalent years of service in nursing management.
License: RN must have current licensure in the State of Alabama, BLS/ACLS certification required; PALS preferred. Must have good computer skills. Must possess sound clinical knowledge of current nursing practices, proven communication, presentation and leadership skills, as well as encourage and inspire nursing staff. Experience is needed in budgeting and writing policies and procedures, along with critical thinking skills and meeting deadlines and tight-time lines. A requirement will be to ensure QA is accomplished.
Duties Include: Responsible for direction of patient care in the Med-Surg setting. Will manage all staff members in the Med-Surg department. Consults with staff, physicians, and CNO on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in QI activities, Infection Control and Employee Health.
